Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda
Convertible. Finished in Matador Red with a white convertible top
and a white interior, this was a California car that has been with
the same Georgia owner, a lifelong Mopar enthusiast, since his
purchase in 2017. The body is straight and solid with one
high-quality repaint in the correct color. Original paint remains
in the jambs, under the hood and inside the trunk. Excellent
original floors with no evidence of rust or prior repair; we
believe all body panels to be original as well. Very nice bumpers,
trim, grille, and emblems.
The interior presents in mostly original condition; front seats
were reupholstered in 2017 but we believe the dash, steering wheel,
rear seats and door panels are original. Optioned with a bucket
seats, center console, and a floor shifter. The interior portion of
the doors remain in original paint - as expected, the paint has
worn through on the upper portion of the driver's door from being
used as an armrest. Excellent glass and the door and quarter window
alignment is very good. All gauges are working; original AM radio
is not. The power top function has been disconnected, but the top
can be manually raised and lowered. The convertible boot cover fits
well with all snaps working properly.
Under the hood is a 318 cubic inch V8 mated to a TorqueFlite
automatic transmission. The engine is strong and smooth without any
hesitation hot or cold. It is nearly silent at idle. The front
suspension was fully rebuilt in 2023 with new upper and lower ball
joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, inner and outer tie
rods, shocks and sway bar links. A new fuel pump and filter were
also installed in 2023; the battery is from 2025. Recent oil
service. Under present ownership for the last decade, this
Barracuda has been garage kept, maintained as part of a collection,
and enjoyed on nice weather weekend days.
It's a great looking car that never fails to turn heads. Jack,
spare and original owner's manual are included with the sale. Runs
and drives well with no known mechanical needs. For more
