For twenty years, Volkswagen built and marketed the Karmann Ghia
"sports car" with joint collaboration with Italian Ghia for styling
and coachbuiler Karmann for assembly. The Karmann Ghia would be
just the second passenger vehicle ever to be produced by Volkswagen
after the Beetle which was a over twenty years prior. There would
be two types of Karmann Ghias, the type 14 and 34 and would be
different styling depending on which corner of the world you are
in. There was a total of about 450,000 units sold worldwide with
only about 80,000 total convertible or cabriolets. This particular
stunning example is finished in a not so common color of black over
black with a nice newer top. The engine and transmission have been
built and the car has been lowered. The paint still shines nicely,
the interior is clean, a very tidy engine and frunk complartment.
The VW starts easy, idles instantly, does not leak or smoke and
goes down the road very nice and smooth. Guages and lights work and
would make someone a really cool cruiser or local car show
favorite. We welcome any questions or inspections here in our
