1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top – One-of-a-Kind Nut & Bolt Rotisserie Custom Build – Candy Apple Red – Full Air Ride
Locally owned and built to the absolute highest standards, this no-expense-spared 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top is a true show-quality masterpiece. This is not a typical restoration — it is a five-year, rotisserie-built, nut-and-bolt custom that has been completely disassembled, restored, and modernized with flawless attention to every detail. The car was taken down to bare metal, every component addressed, and the result is a one-of-a-kind Bubble Top that will rival the very best high-end Impalas in the country.
The body is laser-straight with perfect panel alignment and gaps. It wears a deep Candy Apple Red paint job (approximately 10 years old) that still delivers a flawless mirror finish with zero orange peel. All factory side chrome trim and moldings have been removed for a clean, modern look. The front bumper is from a 1965 Biscayne, the rear bumper from a 1967–68 Camaro, and the grille is a hand-built and polished custom piece.
Interior Completely redesigned in premium tan leather (approximately 7 years old) that blends timeless elegance with modern functionality. Features include a custom center console with digital gauges, power windows, air-ride controls, shaved door handles with remote poppers, a Pioneer premium audio system, and beautifully finished door panels in deep red lacquer. The rear seat incorporates a custom center console/armrest with integrated cup holders. The headliner is finished in matching beige material with custom zigzag trim. Every stitch and surface reflects show-car quality.
Engine Bay A true work of art. The firewall has been smoothed and painted to match the exterior. No visible wiring anywhere. The stock 350 ci V8 (with mild cam) is dressed in full chrome — air cleaner, valve covers, intake manifold, alternator, pulleys, and stainless steel hoses. Custom hood latches and a complete chrome dress-up kit complete the stunning presentation.
Suspension & Chassis Fully converted to a professional Ride-Rite airbag suspension front and rear. The car rides and sits entirely on bags, delivering infinite ride height adjustability from slammed to comfortable cruising height. Tubular control arms, polished chrome anti-roll bar, modern disc brakes, and fresh wheel bearings round out a thoroughly sorted chassis that performs as beautifully as it looks.
Drivetrain Powered by a reliable stock 350 ci V8 with mild camshaft, backed by a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission and stock rear end. A one-of-a-kind custom stainless exhaust system was meticulously fabricated and routed high through the rear wheel wells for a tucked, show-quality appearance (countless hours of TIG welding, mandrel bending, polished tubing, V-band clamps, and large oval mufflers/resonators).
Wheels & Tires Staggered MHT custom wheels wrapped in 215/50ZR17 front and 245/45ZR18 rear rubber.
Trunk Fully finished in tan upholstery with an embossed Chevrolet bowtie logo on the lid. Airbag tanks and compressors are neatly integrated and hidden in the floor for a clean, show-ready appearance.
