For Sale: 1966 Shelby GT350 in Englewood, Colorado

Vehicle Description

This is a real one, delivered new right here in Denver at Champion Ford. It migrated to Texas and Nebraska, fortunately staying away from the ‘rust belt.’
6S1303 is included in the Shelby American registry and is finished in its original Ivy Green color. It was optioned with Shelby’s beefed-up automatic transmission, rear seat and the popular 10-spoke alloy wheels. We have a large file of historic documentation and pictures for the car, including original factory invoices, and the original Shelby owner’s book is in the glove box.

The car shows no obvious signs of significant past accident damage based on our inspection, and the restoration it received thirty years ago is still holding up well. The paint has a few blemishes, but overall the car presents very nicely with an excellent black interior and very good glass and chrome. At some point in the past the original block was lost, but the car has been fitted for decades with a period-correct Hi-Po 289, retaining the original-style finned rocker covers, aluminum oil pan and Holley 4-barrel. The car is very clean and presents as solid underneath, and the Shelby data plate is on the inner fender.
The present owner has had the car over twenty years, kept it garaged and used it sparingly (the title indicated 67K miles as actual in 2006). We have just completed a fuel system cleaning, coolant service including a new water pump, valve adjustment, oil change and general tune-up. The car runs strong and sounds fantastic with those solid lifters. The transmission shifts firmly and the car drives very well. It remains on Koni shocks and an original-type exhaust system. The car has not been cluttered with aftermarket modifications, and a Carroll Shelby signature is present on the glove box. We have handled several GT350s in recent years, and our shop manager is a former owner of a carry-over car, so we have meaningful experience with 1960s Shelbys.
Shelbys have shown strong market interest in recent years—especially GT350s—and this car represents a compelling under-$200K opportunity for such a nicely presented ’66.

If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, you are encouraged to visit and inspect the car in person. If your schedule does not allow, we welcome a knowledgeable representative to inspect the vehicle on your behalf. Please understand that sales are final, so all due diligence should be completed prior to purchase. Our vehicles are sold AS-IS, as many are offered on consignment.
