For Sale: 1957 Cadillac Series 62 in Menifee, California

Vehicle Description

Simply stated, this '57 is gorgeous, and restored in the most desirable color combination. It's undergone a professional-quality restoration that still looks incredible. Just look at the mile-deep paint and the endless shine on the chrome. The light dances off every curve of this beauty. This Cadillac is a moving piece of art.

The exterior of this Cadillac is absolutely stunning. Let's not talk about the cost to just have the chrome and trim restored on this car alone. The bumper chrome depth and shine are amazing, just completely amazing. Body lines are straight and crisp, and the panel gaps look fantastic. A seemingly endless amount of time was spent to make sure this car looked beautiful when it was finished. The restorer cared about this one, 100%.

The convertible top has no rips or tears, and all glass, including the rear convertible window, looks terrific. I think the glass might have been replaced during the restoration, as it looks too good to be original.

The interior picks up right where the exterior left off. The red-and-white interior is an iconic look for this car, and it looks fantastic. Again, the chrome and trim appear to have been restored or replaced as part of the restoration, along with the other components. The leather seats appear to have been recovered at some point, but the white certainly has the original look. Regardless, the seat leather, stitching, and buttons look terrific. The truck is also nicely restored and is ready to be opened for shows. The power convertible top operates very well and seems to be in excellent mechanical shape.

Underneath, the car doesn't see the level of detail as the rest of the restoration, but still shows extremely well. The undercarriage has been undercoated, although it doesn't appear to have been done recently. A new fuel tank with hoses and a new exhaust system have been installed.

This '57 starts, runs, holds an idle, and drives VERY well. It has power steering, and a quality front power disc brake conversion was installed in the last 2000 miles. It feels very safe to drive in traffic at any time of day or evening.

Note that the engine pad stamp matches the door jamb tag, which leads me to believe this beauty retains its original engine. The other engine components may very well be original. The transmission tag also appears to be a correct assembly-line C-57 piece for a '57, as well as a rear axle, but I have no way to be sure.

The car was purchased at an auction, and no restoration information was included.

If you are looking to enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon drive out to a lake for a picnic and turn every head along your way, this is the car for you. It does quite well at the car shows, too!
