This 1966 Chevrolet Malibu El Camino was refurbished under prior ownership. It is powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Equipment includes an AM/FM radio, bench seats, air conditioning, a kill switch, and Glasspack mufflers. The truck is equipped with 15″ Rally wheels.
The current owner acquired the El Camino in 2008 and relocated it from the East Coast to California. Originally delivered in Ermine White, the truck was refinished under prior ownership.
Exterior details include quad headlights, dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers and trim, and a drop-down tailgate with Chevrolet block lettering.
The truck rides on 15″ Rally wheels wrapped in 225/70R15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. A spare wheel is stored inside the cab behind the passenger seat. Power steering and power-assisted brakes are also fitted.
Inside, the bench seat and door panels are trimmed in red vinyl. Additional features include lap seat belts, manual roll-up windows, an AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. A three-spoke wooden steering wheel fronts a 120-mph horizontal-sweep speedometer along with a fuel level gauge. The radio is currently not working (It likely just requires a new fuse). The A/C is also currently not working.
The drivetrain sends power to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
Under the hood, the 283ci V8 is fitted with a two-barrel carburetor. Exhaust exits through a dual system equipped with Glasspack mufflers. The engine stamping pad is shown in the gallery. The suffix code DE corresponds to a 283ci V8 rated at 295 horsepower for use with an automatic transmission.
