My grandfather Tony collected and restored classic cars—in 1981, he bought this cherry 1951 Chevy Coupe in an estate sale in Sonora and picked it up from the garage of the original owner. Grandpa restored all the chrome and the engine, and added the turn signals for it to be legal for me to drive. I drove it for a couple of years. The only thing I had to replace that is not original on the engine was the fuel pump. Since the late 1980’s, my dad drove it a few times but it has largely sat in dry, secure storage in Modesto.
The car is same or very similar to the 1952 Styline Deluxe seen the Outsiders.
