This car was bought new in 1949 and was moved to Miami Beach and owned by Mrs. Mildred Vere-Smith and her husband. She sold it to her neighbor after her husband died, COL Howard Cox, a lawyer from New York around 1966. He drove it up and down the coast and then parked it for sale in the Hamptons in New York where my father bought it in 1970. My father had it repainted and overhauled the engine. I went to my high school prom in this car; and it was a regular driver for my father at all family events. My brother took the '49 to Carlisle, PA in 2006. My father bought the car back from him in 2017, and sent it down to me in Virginia Beach. An engine shop took care of the engine and running gear repairs and updates. Ed Murmillo completely repainted and restored the car top to bottom in 2021-2022. A 1st Place winner at the 2022 CLC and 2024 & 2025 AOH car shows. Complete restoration photos available.
