This 1979 Ford F-150 Custom Short Box is an extremely cool truck
that was apparently a special order truck based on what we see on
the Marti Report (pictured). This truck has some cool upgrades and
it spent its life in Arizona and SW Colorado. This truck was
ordered as a Custom but has the deluxe 2-Tone paint and XLT
moldings. The body is clean and straight and appears to still have
all of its original metal. The Bright Yellow and Wimbledon White
paint appears to be original and is still in great shape but does
have some patina and minor stone chips from over the years. All of
the chrome and trim is still in excellent condition. It has a nice
tonneau cover on the bed and the bed itself is still in great
condition. The underside is exceptionally clean and you can still
se primer on the bottom of the floors. We found no rust issues with
this truck.
The interior is also really nice. This truck came with a Sand Vinyl
Bench seat, but the seat was recovered in Gray Velour type cloth
and then a custom seat cover was installed over it. It also has new
carpet, new headliner, and new door panels. The dash and dash bezel
are original. It has an aftermarket Intellitronix digital
dash/gauge cluster and the original dash cluster comes with the
truck which shows 30k/130k. The headlights, taillights, brake
lights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. The
horn, heat, and windshield wipers are working. It has an
aftermarket stereo in it but it is not working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives great.
It came from the factory with an Inline 6 and a 4 Speed manual
transmission. It now has and early 70's 429 V8 and an Automatic
transmission. The engine was rebuilt around 2,200 miles ago based
on the information we received from the last owner. We did not get
the receipts but you can see it is clean and new. It has a mild
cam, Weiand aluminum high rise intake, Edelbrock carb, HEI
ignition, dual exhaust, aluminum radiator, and electric fuel pump.
The engine runs strong and has plenty of power. They also rebuilt
the C6 Automatic transmission and it shifts great. It is mated to
the np205 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. It has a
Ford 9" rear axle with 3.50 gears. It has a Dana 44 front axle with
3.50 gears. The truck has power steering and power front disc
brakes. It is sitting on a nice set of aftermarket aluminum wheels
with 31 Inch Dynapro All Terrain tires.
We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and
accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures
are never touched up or photoshopped. What you see is an accurate
representation of the vehicle. We take consistent pictures and show
you everything so you can get a true representation of the
vehicle.
