Finished in Torred Red over a Black Bucket seat interior, this 1968
Dodge Charger R/T Restomod/Tribute captures what many of us
enthusiasts dream of building! A badass Charger that looks period
but has modern capabilities. This car is fast, it sounds mean, it's
comfortable, it starts every time, It runs strong, stayscool, and
stops, steers, and handles like this car's developers could have
only dreamt of back in the day!
The rotisserie restoration took place in the early 2000s, at this
time the complete exterior and undercarriage was stripped to bare
metal and refinished in Torred red from top to bottom! In
ouropinion this car could pass for having been painted half as many
years ago! It's slick everywhere you look with only minimal
imperfections. In 2025 this car received nearly 50k worth of top
shelf upgrades! Braking is now handled by Wilwood 4 piston calipers
on all four corners along with their dual master cylinder and SS
braided lines. Steering is all new, everything from the tie rods to
the Borgeson box, pump, u-joints, and even the new I did It Tilt
Column!
To make this car handle as good as it looks, QA1's full front
K-member, upper and lower tubular control arms, and sway bar are
installed along with their adjustable shocks on all four corners!
The ride is tight but not overly stiff! The engine, trans, and
rearend all received adequate attention as well to make sure this
car was going to be ready for years of enjoyment ahead! Under the
hood now sits a freshly sealed period correct 440 V8, topped with
an Edelbrock Aluminum intake manifold, Mopar Performance air
cleaner & valve covers, MSD coil, distributor and Digital Ignition
controller. Additionally a high flowing water pump, Be Cool
Aluminum radiator, Spal electric fan, Powermaster high-output
alternator and a Powermax high torque starter all play their part!
The 727 transmission was serviced, re-gasketed, and fitted with a
finned deep pan to keep temps steady under spirited driving, the
rear end has been rebuilt with a new ring & pinion, bearings,
seals, and is now spinning 3.70 Sure Grip gears! Power meets the
pavement through a set of Mickey Thompson 235/60/15 front, and
275/60/15 rear radial tires mounted on new Magnum 500 wheels!
Looking inside you'll find a black interior with bucket seats and a
full console with the stock style shifter. The new 3-spoke wood
grain wheel frames the Dakota Digital gauges that would appear as
stock to the untrained eye! The new Sony radio is easy to use and
has AM/FM/AUX/ and Bluetooth capability, new speakers and a trunk
mounted amp leaves nothing more to be desired!
Overall this is an above average example of a really well mannered
68' Dodge Charger with modern enhancements that have been
thoughtfully integrated to enhance the driving experience without
compromising the car's classic appeal!
