The Chevelle was introduced in 1964 and was one of Chevrolet's most
successful models. Production would eventually end in 1977 but
throughout their run they cemented a spot on the list of most
iconic muscle cars of all time. If you are talking muscle cars, the
Chevelle is guaranteed to be brought up in conversation. This 1969
belongs to the 2nd generation which is when you see that muscle car
look really emerge and this year was marketed as "America's most
popular mid-size car." Today these are still very popular and the
SS is king. Unfortunately most of these manufacturers never
predicted the popularity of these cars so didn't incorporate modes
of identifying a true Super Sport other than original paperwork.
The current owner bought it as a restored SS and the car is in
great condition. It has been professionally appraised for a market
value of $60,000 in 2021 so we are offering it up for a very fair
price. The body is in great shape and features Cortez Silver paint
with a Black vinyl top and the Black SS side strips. The chrome and
stainless trim pieces are all in good condition throughout and all
of the badges are there as well. The glass has no issues and is all
tinted. The classic double headlights along with the taillights and
turn signals all work properly. The car really looks great and sits
on its factory SS wheels and are even wrapped in period correct
Firestone Wide Oval tires.
Turning those tires is a 396 ci V8 motor that runs and drives
great. It has a very clean factory stock appearance with a chrome
air cleaner (325 hp decals), a Chevrolet Orange block, Orange
manifold, chrome valve covers and all GM hoses. The Frigidaire AC
compressor, power steering and power brakes are all in place and
all of those systems work properly. Paired with the motor is a
smooth shifting automatic transmission that sends power back to the
12 bolt rear. The brakes and suspension are all the stock set up
and the car runs down the road well. It sounds great too through
dual exhaust that exits below the rear bumper.
The interior is done in its original Black vinyl and is in great
condition. It has dual bucket seats with headrests and its factory
center console with automatic horseshoe shifter. The dash has a
stock look with factory "Astro Ventilation" AC vents, gauges,
knobs, switches, etc which all work. The factory trim is in place
throughout and the Black dash pad is in good condition. The
headliner looks great and these cars came with the 3 point belts
with clip up shoulder belt. Even the dome light works properly. A
RetroRadio has been added but the car does come with the original
Delco should the next owner want to bring it back to stock. The
trunk houses a matching spare and the original jack. An original
style mat is in place as well and underneath the pans are all
solid.
This iconic muscle car has a lot going for it and is very clean. It
runs out well and is ready for a new garage to call home.
