For Sale: 1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in Bedford, New Hampshire

Vehicle Description

1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z28/LT – 4-Speed, 435HP 350 V-8 with LT1 heads and a 290 duration lift, AC, Frame-Off Restored in 2016 and repainted Summer 2025.  EXCELLENT CONDITION

Up for sale is a stunning and well cared for TRUE 1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z28/LT finished in silver metallic and restored to an exceptional level. This true Z28 is paired with the desirable Type LT package, offering a rare and unique blend of performance and comfort. Out of 151k Camaros produced in 1974 only 2500-3000 were LT’s, and even fewer with manual transmission.

This Camaro underwent a frame-off restoration in 2016 and was treated to a full body respray July 2025.  This Camaro presents beautifully inside, on the exterior and underneath - the new paint shows extremely well. It retains the iconic Z28 styling, although the car has been upgraded to include matching paint color on the tucked-in closer to the body bumpers (in place of what was just aluminum) and brand new 17" rally wheels in the same style and color as original (the tires are brand new as well).  The owner purposely left off the optional Z28 sticker package for the hood and trunk, consistent with the standards which existed at the time of build where you either had the Z28 logo on the front quarters or the stripes.

Under the hood sits a professionally built 350 V-8 four bolt main with LT1 heads, roller rockers and a 290 duration lift, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake, producing an estimated 435 horsepower. Built by Chuck’s Performance Engines (formerly associated with Richard Petty Racing), this engine combines serious performance within the standard 350 small block.  The car drives well and sounds great with the Hedman Headers.  Odometer shows what is believed to be 108,500 miles, but TMU.

Power is sent through a highly desirable Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission with a new Hurst Competition Plus shifter to a 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears and Posi traction. The 3.42 axle was standard for manual transmission cars equipped with optional air conditioning. The car is also equipped with power steering, front power disc brakes and tilt steering wheel for a great driving experience.

The interior was fully restored in black cloth/vinyl trim and remains mostly true to the LT trim level, with the following features:
• New door panels and seat upholstery from the 2016 full restoration
• Center console with Hurst shifter
• Aftermarket Custom Autosound AM/FM radio with portable charging cord
• Tilt steering wheel
• Clean dash with no cracks or fade with original-style gauges

Riding on brand new 17" period-correct style rally wheels wrapped in new General G-Max RS high performance tires, this Camaro has the perfect stance to match its performance.

Highlights:
• True 1974 Z28 with Type LT package with a professionally built high performance engine with new wheels and tires and dressed in a fresh coat of silver metallic paint
• Frame-off restoration in 2016
• Solid underbody and red oxide floor pans
• Professionally Built 350 V8 (~435 HP) with an aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM high rise intake, QuikFuel 650 cfm carb, aluminum valve covers, aluminum radiator and EFI ignition
• Muncie M20 4-speed manual with new Hurst Competition Plus shifter and rod kit
• New tires and period-correct rally rims
• New: E3 premium plugs, Moroso Ultra 40 race spark plug wires, battery, Powermaster high-torque starter, power steering pump and hoses and K&N air cleaner
• Front power disc/rear drum brakes
• Vintage Air air conditioning system which blows ICE COLD air
• Fully restored interior with new Lloyd carpet mats with Z28 logo
• Excellent condition throughout

This is not a numbers-matching car, but rather a high-quality, mostly period-correct performance build that delivers the look of a classic Z28 with significantly enhanced power.  A rare opportunity to own a beautifully restored second-generation Camaro that’s ready to be driven and enjoyed.

PLEASE NOTE - information provided above regarding the high performance engine, including the builder, and when the vehicle had a complete restoration, is derived from what appears to be the advertisement for the car just after restoration.  It was listed for sale by Streetside Classics, Charlotte, in 2016.  The ad and a video, if you do a search, is still available on the internet.  You will see pictures of the car from 2016 that are consistent with the car having a fresh restoration.  Engine particulars, such as the 290 cam, LT1 heads, horsepower and builder, which are shown on the ad, APPEAR to be accurate, but have not been professionally verified.  You can also view the ad and condition of the vehicle back two years ago, when the owner that I purchased the car from purchased the car - that ad can also be found on an internet search under USA hotcars, a dealer in San Ramon, CA.  The car at that time was still in excellent condition, as seen in the photos.  I purchased the car almost two years ago and the seller had no paperwork.  An inquiry to Streetside Classics for further information on the car went unanswered.  Car had a full repaint last summer after I damaged the passenger side door.  The professional body work included fixing two small cracks in the paint on each sail panel (typical for these cars) and a divot on the hood caused by a prior owner shutting the hood on an air cleaner that was too high, along with some minor touch-ups.  I opted to do an expensive full respray vs. trying to blend paint on the repaired areas and have it look less than stellar.

I have receipts for any work and parts purchased that has been done under my ownership.

Clean NH title applied for recently - copy of the application paperwork available. NH does not require a title.  I was not planning to sell the car when purchased two years ago, but I now have too many cars and not enough room.  Title should be obtained in about two weeks from date of this listing.

There are no known problems with the vehicle and it is being sold as is, where is without a warranty.

36,500 or best offer.
