This 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport is an extra clean, super nice,
tastefully modified SUV that spent nearly all its life in
California and Arizona. The last owner was from Michigan and used
this as a summer toy for the last couple of years. He did a lot of
cool upgrades to it so he could use it as a trail rig but never did
because he thought it was too nice to do that. The body is super
clean and straight. The Gunmetal Pearlcoat paint is in excellent
condition and is mostly original. The hood and roof were repainted
because of sun fade and clearcoat issues from the California and
Arizona sun. It has new fender flare, a new JCR OffRoad front
bumper with Warn Zeon 10S winch and Rigid Pod Lights. It has a
Rusty's Rear Bumper. The underside is super clean and detailed and
we found no rust issues with this vehicle.
The interior is also exceptionally nice. The seats, carpet, door
panels, dash, and dash bezel are all original and super nice. The
headliner was professionally replaced and looks like new. The
headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The cruise works. It has working
power windows and power locks. The power mirrors work. The horn and
windshield wipers work and the heat and AC work. It has an upgraded
stereo system that is touchscreen with integrated rear camera. It
has Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The speakers were all replaced
and they added a subwoofer.
Mechanically this Jeep is top notch and it runs and drives
excellent. The engine is the 4.0L Inline Six that runs excellent
with no issues or red flags that we found. It recently was tuned up
and had belts and hoses replaced. They also added Flowmaster
Exhaust. The transmission is the AW4 4 Speed Automatic that shifts
great. It is mated to the np231 transfer case and the 4WD works
like it should. The rear axle is the 8.25 with 3.55 gears. The
front axle is the Dana 30 with 3.55 gears. The suspension has been
totally redone and is awesome. It has the Iron 3 Link long arm up
front with 5.5" metal cloak springs. The rear has the 3.5" iron
leaf springs with Core adjustable shackles. It has new Bilstein
5100 shocks all around. It has a Core 4x4 adjustable trac bar, JKS
quick disconnect sway bar, 2J steering upgrade, extended stainless
brake lines. This is all sitting on really cool, brand new Fuel
Auza Rims with 33 Inch BFG Mud Terrain tires.
