Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1980 MG MGB Limited Edition
Roadster - 35K Original Miles - California Car - Black with Caramel
Interior - 4 Speed Transmission with Overdrive.A true British
sports car icon, this 1980 MG MGB Roadster is a very nice driver
quality all-original California car showing just over 35,000
original miles and finished in its factory-correct black exterior
over a caramel vinyl bucket seat interior. As one of the final
production-year MGBs and a desirable Limited Edition example, this
car represents the end of one of the most successful and beloved
sports car production runs in automotive history.Produced from 1962
through 1980, the MGB became one of the best-selling sports cars of
all time, with over 500,000 units built. The 1980 model marked the
final year of production, making these late cars especially
collectible among enthusiasts who appreciate the final evolution of
the classic Abingdon-built roadster. Power comes from MG's proven
1.8-liter (1798cc) inline 4-cylinder engine featuring the factory
single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor setup, designed to meet U.S.
emissions standards while maintaining the dependable drivability
and spirited character the MGB is known for. Factory output was
approximately 62 horsepower with strong low-end torque, paired to
the highly desirable 4-speed manual transmission with factory
overdrive, making highway cruising significantly more enjoyable and
relaxed than standard gearbox cars. This Limited Edition Roadster
retains its original character throughout and presents very well
with excellent body lines, solid structure, and a clean
undercarriage showing only the typical light surface rust expected
and shown on honest original examples. The black paint is in very
good condition with some imperfections and spider cracking as shown
. The car is equipped with the classic chrome luggage rack and
factory wheels, giving the car outstanding vintage roadster
presence.Interior condition is also in good condition, featuring
clean caramel vinyl bucket seats, factory dash layout, aftermarket
AM/FM radio for added enjoyment, MG floor mats, and a clean trunk
complete with spare tire and jack. A new matching black manual
convertible top has recently been installed, and the car also
includes the matching boot cover, tonneau cover, and car
cover-everything needed for top-down touring or protected
storage. The car has been used sparingly and starts, runs, and
drives as expected for a well-preserved collector example. As part
of normal routine servicing for a classic British sports car, we
recommend a standard tune-up including carburetor adjustment and
timing calibration to optimize smoothness and drivability.
Currently stored in Massachusetts and offered with a clean
Massachusetts title in the owner's name, this final-year MGB is an
excellent opportunity to own a low-mileage, highly original,
desirable overdrive-equipped example of one of Britain's most
iconic sports cars. Affordable, collectible, and endlessly
enjoyable, this 1980 MGB Limited Edition Roadster is ready for
weekend drives, local shows, and open-road enjoyment. Call Jeff to
