What an outstanding rendition of one of America's most beloved
classics! This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Tribute wears an attention
grabbing, black and gray paint scheme that's in great form, showing
a nice, deep shine and ornamented with a clean assortment of chrome
trim. It features a tastefully lowered stance that confirms skilled
aftermarket workmanship without compromising the ground clearance
needed for frequent driving, and it rolls on a set of 18" U.S. mags
that add the perfect touch to its stellar curb appeal. Take a
closer look and you'll appreciate the crystal-clear glass
surrounding the cabin, and how well the body panels blend together.
And check out the evenness of that full-body trim as it transitions
from fender, to door, to quarter panel.
The interior has been thoroughly refurbished and blends some nice
modifications into the mix without detracting from the classic
appeal Bel Airs from this era became known for. A pair of
leather-clad, low-backed bucket seats straddle a custom center
console and, as you direct your attention further forward, you'll
see that the signature twin-pod configuration of the dash remains
intact, but there's now an assembly of digital gauges inside the
instrument cluster to maintain close tabs on motoring functions. A
retro-sound stereo sits at the center to provide your personal
soundtrack while out on the road and, while the air conditioning
system will need a bit of attention to get back online, all the
components are securely in place and the system runs on modern
refrigerant.
Raise the hood and you'll find a 350-cubic-inch V8 standing by,
nicely dressed in a variety of chrome accessories and outfitted
with a high-rise intake manifold and Holley four-barrel carburetor.
With its shorty headers leading to a dual exhaust that terminates
in Flowmaster mufflers, this vintage Chevy has a very appealing,
throaty exhaust note you'll never grow tired of. An upgraded
aluminum radiator teams with a pair of electric fans to keep
operating temperatures in check, and with both power steering and
four-wheel power disc brakes on board, it stops and steers as good
as it looks. Tubular control arms and a rear sway bar combine to
give this '56 surprising agility and a more refined ride than its
stock counterparts.
