Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1988 Mercedes Benz 300CE.
The W124 chassis has long been one of our favorites - Teutonic
styling combined with excellent build quality, and just the right
balance between comfort and performance. Indeed, these are some of
the best looking, best built, and best driving cars ever produced
(clearly we are big fans of 1980s and 1990s German cars around
here).
This example is finished in Nautical Blue Metallic, a gorgeous
color that looks great with the grey lower body cladding. Clean
CarFax report with no accidents. A set of Gullideckel 15-inch
wheels are wearing Hankook Optimo tires with 2020 date codes.
Interior, in creme beige, is in well-preserved original condition
with excellent wood and a crack-free dash. All gauges, lights and
indicators are working, including the original original Becker
cassette stereo (we haven not tested the tape player, but the radio
and power antenna function normally). The driver's side seat belt
presenter does not extend, but the seat belt otherwise works just
fine (a replacement presenter mechanism is included in a box in the
trunk). Automatic climate control including cold A/C is fully
operational.
Under the hood is an M103 straight six mated to a four-speed
automatic transmission. Major service within the last five years
and 5,000 miles has included a top-end rebuild with valve job, head
gasket and valve cover gasket; all belts and hoses; full tune-up
with cap, rotor, plugs and wires; a new alternator a battery;
engine and transmission mounts plus driveshaft flex disk; fan
clutch, both water pumps, expansion tank; plus a complete brake
job, new shocks and many suspension bushings. Thanks to such recent
and comprehensive service, this C124 runs and drives like new.
Spare, jack, complete owner's books including stamped service book,
and recent service records accompany the sale. For more information
