The Corvette Carbon 65 Grand Sport Z30 is one of the most desirable
limited-run C7 Corvettes because it blends real performance
hardware with collector-grade exclusivity. Introduced for the 2018
model year to celebrate Corvette's 65th anniversary, the Z30
package was a $15,000 option layered on top of the Grand Sport 3LT
trim. It wasn't just a cosmetic appearance package, it brought a
full suite of exposed carbon fiber components including the hood
insert, roof panel, front splitter, rocker extensions, rear
spoiler, and aero ducts, all designed to reduce weight and improve
downforce.
What really separates the Carbon 65 from a standard Grand Sport is
the attention to detail and exclusivity. Every car came in Ceramic
Matrix Gray Metallic with blue accents: blue brake calipers, blue
interior stitching, and unique fender stripes and graphics that you
could not get on any other Corvette. Inside, it featured a
suede-wrapped Jet Black interior, carbon-fiber steering wheel,
Competition Sport seats, and serialized badging, making each car
feel like a numbered collector piece. Chevrolet capped production
at just 650 units globally across both Grand Sport and Z06
variants, making the Grand Sport version particularly rare and
highly sought after.
Under the hood, it kept the proven naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8
producing 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, paired with
either a 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic. That's important-this
car isn't about forced-induction bragging rights like the Z06; it's
about balance, reliability, and track capability with lower heat
issues. The Grand Sport chassis already borrows widebody aero,
suspension, and cooling from the Z06, so when you combine that with
the Z30 carbon package and low production numbers, you get a car
that sits right in the sweet spot: usable, collectible, and
appreciating in enthusiast demand.
