Over sixty years ago, the best sports cars all came from Europe.
Americans wanted a car of their own to take on the British,
Italians and Germans. Texan Carroll Shelby took the sharp handling,
lightweight AC Ace from Britain, and stuffed it full of American
muscle. The result was the Shelby Cobra. The price of an original
Shelby Cobra puts it out of the reach of the average enthusiast.
Also, most kits leave much to be desired in regards to fit, finish,
feel, and value.
Then Shelby took his 427 S/C Cobra and took it to another level
with the Super Snake. The original cars were created to be the
baddest cars made adding twin Paxton Superchargers to the 427FE.
Only 23 Super Snakes were factory built in 1965.
The Superformance MKIII is a meticulously engineered and crafted
reproduction of the original Cobra, built under license from
Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. No expense is spared and no corners
are cut in recreating these legendary cars, ensuring an authentic
sports car experience. Superformance uses only the highest quality
new parts in the construction of the MKIII, they have always
maintained amazingly high resale values, and are known in the
industry for their track ready drivability, and their show ready
finish.
It only makes sense that Superformance would offer a "Super Snake"
version of the MKIII SC. The Rolling Chassis includes many special
features, such as a special body design with Double Speed Fairings
behind the Driver and Passenger, Front Splitter, Rear Diffuser, LED
Headlights, 30th Anniversary 18" Wheels, special Interior with High
Back Alcantara/Leather Seats, Alcantara Dash, Super Snake
Electronic Gauge Package, Special Center Console with Push Button
Start, Carroll Shelby's Signature painted on the Speed Fairing, and
a Shelby Chassis number.
This example is the first produced as both a Super Snake and 30th
Anniversary Car, CSX10004. It is finished in Liquid Blue with a
Black Center Stripe and Red Pin Stripes. It features a full
Blackout Package.
The interior is finished in black and red alcantara with
contrasting stitching. The dash is also finished in alcantara with
red stitching. The Super Snake center console houses the push
button start and charging port. A carbon fiber steering wheel
wrapped in alcantara finishes off the classically modern
interior.
Under the hood is something that makes this car even more special.
The first of its kind to get a Supercharged Godzilla making
1,052HP! The engine bay is a work of art with custom snakeskin
coil/valve covers and supercharger cover with the CSX chassis
number plate. The glorious sound of the Godzilla is enhanced by the
custom undercar, side exit exhaust. This is mated to a Tremec TKX 5
speed for fast and smooth shifting. The 18" Anniversary Wheels are
finished in gloss black with red anodized spinners and center
caps.
This showpiece has only 199 miles and is available on it's Shelby
American Manufacturer's Statement of Origin for $349,950.
