Here is a gorgeous 1970 Porsche 911T coupe that thoroughly demonstrates what makes these early 911’s so endearing. This example is the product of a restoration completed in 2004 and has seen only 4,400 miles since. A further engine rebuild in 2024 ensures that it runs as good as it looks.
This one has plenty of curb appeal. The body is in excellent condition and was repainted its original code 1313 Bahia Red (which certainly doesn’t make it less conspicuous). All brightwork was polished or replated and all rubber seals were replaced. The underside is remarkably solid without any rust issues past or present; be sure to see all the photos. This one rolls on genuine 15” Fuchs wheels with Bridgestone tires from the time of restoration (we can assist with replacement if interested).
The 2.0L engine is a 901/16 piece from 1969. The fairly recent rebuild includes AA Performance cylinders and twin PDO carburetors, while the exhaust features a Dansk 92.210 muffler. The 4-speed manual transmission has billet side plates and works perfectly. As a 911, this one has 4-wheel disc brakes which were recently serviced. Steering feel is excellent and just what you would expect from a Porsche. Note the battery has been converted to a single Optima RedTop.
The front seats are very comfortable and have been recovered with black and white Pepita fabric inserts that remain in like-new condition. Other restored items include the dashboard, carpet, door panels, and headliner. All gauges work properly with the exception of the clock. Aftermarket items are limited to the steering wheel and digital radio. The front compartment looks as good as the rest of the car and includes a matching spare.
The Porsche 911 is a landmark design for both the company and the industry. There are plenty of examples out there in a variety of conditions and configurations. This is one of the nicer units out there, defying its age of 56 years, and is a proper representative of the classic Porsche line that continues on to this day.
