Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory 4 Speed W72/WS6 Trans AM which is in unrestored condition with low actual miles of 56,250. This TA was owned from new until 3/2026 by one family with the second family owner having the car from 1984 until 3/2026. This Trans Am features believed to be mostly original Heritage Brown paint with original decals, an original hobnail deluxe cloth interior, the original numbers matching 400 engine and original 4 speed manual transmission, see vin stamp photos above, and the original build sheet and numerous dealer brochures and manual. This Trans Am has no visible rust and is very solid with great lines. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Heritage Brown over Camel Tan cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included build sheet. This is one of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market being the last of the 400 4 speed cars, 1 of only 2417 ever made. Very importantly the original engine is still in the car and the title shows the miles as actual. Over $2600 was recently spent on routine maintenance, see receipt.
Exterior
The Heritage Brown exterior is in nice unrestored condition. This Trans Am has believed to be mostly original factory Heritage Brown with original decals. The paint is in good overall original condition and looks nice with no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in good shape with no flaking paint. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires have nearly full tread left and the original 15 x 8" snowflake wheels are unrestored originals. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in good shape. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and original jack and original trunk mat. The light in the trunk works and you can open the trunk from the glove box. Original speakers are still in place and the drivers side still has the factory insulation box from 1979, passenger side did not come with that due to the spare tire.
Interior
The Hobnail cloth deluxe interior of this Trans Am is in very nice original condition. The original seat covers are in great condition with no major wear and are very comfortable. The original carpet is also in great shape with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in great condition and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The original stereo has the rare CB feature and sounds great in the car, and the original stereo manual comes with the car. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the tach, which is stuck. The horn, stereo, power windows, blower motor and cigarette lighter also work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever and the ashtray is clean. The power door locks are currently not working.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition with only 56,250 actual miles on the original 400 engine and original 4 speed manual transmission. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, rides tight, and always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is a good driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The 4 wheel disk brakes do not pull and stop as they should. True dual exhaust was installed on this TA and it has a deep exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and unmolested and in stock configuration as one can see from the photos. Many factory original paper tags and decals are still in place under the hood. his is a factory AC car and the components are still in place. The underside is very solid with no past rust repairs and no current rust issues.
