Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this 1983 Ford Mustang GLX
Convertible. This car represents a significant moment in Mustang
history, serving as a true "bridge" model that marked the return of
the convertible after a 10-year absence while slotting perfectly
between the base GL and the performance-oriented GT. Finished in
what we believe to be its original white, the car has likely been
repainted at some point, and while it shows very well from 10 feet
away, there are some minor imperfections visible up close. The blue
convertible top is in exceptional condition and is believed to be
original, providing a great contrast to the exterior. It sits on
its factory steel wheels with spoke-style caps, wrapped in
brand-new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. The exterior lighting is in
excellent condition, with clear, haze-free headlights and
taillights, and all of the glass-including the rear convertible
window-is in great shape.
Inside, the car is extremely well preserved, featuring clean
carpeting and leather-wrapped seats that appear nearly untouched.
With just 15,776 original miles, this Mustang is a rare find,
supported by a clean title and a Carfax report. It retains its
factory AM/FM radio with great sound, along with fully functional
lights and gauges. Comfort features include cold air conditioning,
strong heat, power windows, and power locks, while the front seats
are manual. The rear quarter windows are hand-cranked, and the
power-operated convertible top works exactly as it should.
Under the hood is the iconic 5.0L HO V8, producing 175 horsepower
and 245 lb-ft of torque. That legendary small block is paired with
a Borg-Warner T-5 5-speed manual transmission, which was introduced
?mid-way through the 1983 model year as an upgrade from the earlier
4-speed. This combination delivers a classic Foxbody driving
experience that's both engaging and increasingly collectible.
Whether you're a Mustang enthusiast or simply looking for a clean,
low-mileage classic convertible, this GLX is an excellent example
that stands out for its originality, condition, and historical
significance.
