Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this aggressive
1966 Chevrolet Nova SS Pro Street, a true factory 117-VIN Super
Sport that combines classic Marina Blue muscle car aesthetics with
a high-performance street fighter attitude. This Nova commands
attention with its 15-inch Weld Racing wheels, featuring skinny
145R15 Firestones up front for that classic drag-style look and
meaty 275/60R15 Nitto tires out back. With approximately 1,000
miles since the rebuild of its drivetrain, this Chevy is refreshed
and ready to dominate the asphalt.
Under the hood, this factory SS is currently equipped with a
high-performance 355 CID V8 engine built to breathe and perform. It
features a dual-quad setup with twin Edelbrock 1404 carburetors
perched atop an Edelbrock intake manifold, complemented by Aluminum
GM Performance Heads and an MSD 6AL ignition system. The power is
funneled through a built TH350 3-speed automatic transmission
featuring a B&M ratchet shifter, leading back to a
professionally built 9-inch rear end stuffed with 35-spline Strange
axles. Shorty headers feeding into a dual exhaust with
glasspack-style mufflers ensure this Nova sounds every bit as fast
as it looks.
The engineering on this Pro Tour build extends to the chassis,
where modern handling meets vintage iron. The car features a
Borgeson steering box for precise power steering, CPP front
suspension components with tubular A-arms, and a front sway bar.
The rear is held tight by frame connectors, traction bars, and a
coilover suspension setup. Stopping power is provided by a Wilwood
front disc brake conversion. Inside, the blue vinyl interior
remains true to its SS heritage with bucket seats and a center
console, updated with AutoGage underdash gauges to monitor water
temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. This 117-code Nova SS is a
meticulously upgraded street machine that offers the perfect blend
of 60s pedigree and modern mechanical grit.
