In the vast history of the autoverse, few cars can match the levels
of love, allure, and dedication that a '57 Chevy commands. While
all three Tri-Fives are fan favorites to the Bowtie faithful, one
look at this gorgeous 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 Door Hardtop and
it's easy to see why this car is on so many collectors' bucket
lists. Fully repainted in this stellar Onyx Black and white top
configuration, this excellently restored Bel Air comes with all of
its correct chrome and badging, along with a few tasteful upgrades
to make it the perfect weekend getaway car for its next lucky
owner.
Complementing that captivating exterior is a cool and inviting
two-tone silver-and-black interior. A period-correct front bench
seat leaves plenty of room to spread out, while a correct
two-spoke, dual-rim, power-assisted steering wheel sits ahead of a
correct three-pod gauge cluster featuring a big 120-mph
speedometer, and an added pair of gauges sits under the dash, out
of the way. A Vintage Air HVAC setup makes temperature a breeze
(pun intended), and while the AM radio is currently inoperative,
you won't mind thanks to the rumble emanating from the exhaust
pipes.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay with a 283-cubic-inch
V-8. That small block is fed by a single Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor topped by a factory-style intake manifold, while spent
gases are expelled via a dual exhaust capped off with baffled
straight pipes, giving this retro ride an authentic sound like no
other. That power is routed through a TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission before being sent out to the ten-bolt rear end.
