1961 Austin-Healey BT7-1 for sale (titled as 1961 but built in 1960), same owner since 1989.
Currently showing 113k (was 91k in 1989 when purchased). Driving about 1k per year and declining. Original black with red, but currently green (see BMHT certificate for details).
Almost all major components or systems replaced or rebuilt during recent 35 years, except rear differential. Engine 0.040 over about 20k miles ago (including aftermarket rear main seal) – slight compression and cam increase (runs better on premium fuel). Transmission and OD rebuild by Healey Surgeons. Front and rear suspensions fully reconditioned (kingpins and bushes, springs, shocks, links, all those little rubber or rubber-over-steel bushings, splined hubs, wheels, tires), pre-formed stainless brake lines throughout, master cylinder sleeved, etc. Wiring harness replaced. Generally, all very serviceable but some of the rebuilds were 20-30 years ago (like HD6 carbs which may benefit from another service). Oil and filter changed every year or two, including transmission/OD, coolant on five-year cycle.
White soft top (with frame) and blue tonneau. Original hardtop. Have side curtains but do not know enough about them to conclude they are original. Have front bumper and brackets but not currently mounted. Aftermarket horn and fuel pump (facet one) installed but have originals. Some extra parts, materials, manuals, books, etc. come with the vehicle.
Defects are rust and cosmetics worn. Tachometer not working (have a new cable but not sure that’s the problem), driver’s front fender is plastic.
