For Sale: 1969 AMC SC/Rambler in Sneek, the Netherlands

Vehicle Description

1969 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler – 390 V8, 4-Speed, Hurst Shifter, A-Scheme

Most muscle cars from 1969 were trying to look fast. This one didn't bother with subtlety. AMC just painted it red, white and blue, bolted on a ram air scoop the size of a small aircraft carrier, dropped in a 390 big-block, and handed it a Hurst shifter. Job done.

The SC/Rambler is one of the genuine sleepers of the classic muscle car world. Only 1,512 were ever built, which makes any surviving example rare. A numbers-matching one in A-scheme paint that actually drives the way it should is something considerably rarer than that.

The car

This is the A-scheme, which is the one everyone recognizes: bold red body, white hood with blue accents and that unmistakable arrow graphic pointing straight at the ram air scoop. The factory steel wheels are present and correct. Chrome, trim and factory decals are all there. The paint shows some age and minor wear in a few spots, as you'd expect from a car that's over fifty years old and has clearly been used rather than hidden. Overall though the car presents beautifully and carries its years well. This is not a rotisserie restoration, it's a genuine, original SC/Rambler in amazing condition that shows honest character.

Under the hood

The original AMC V8 is in place, with factory valve covers and period-correct under-hood details preserved. The ram air hood scoop is intact and functional. It runs strong and pulls hard, delivering exactly the kind of aggressive, mechanical acceleration these cars were built for. The factory 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter is exactly right and shifts with the precision you want from a car like this.

The interior

Factory bench seats, floor-mounted Hurst shifter, basic driver-focused instrumentation. There's nothing unnecessary in here and that's entirely the point. The SC/Rambler was AMC's no-nonsense factory hot rod, built light and built fast. The interior reflects that perfectly.

Documentation and registration

Belgian registration is in place. Dutch or German registration is available on request. Documentation and history are included with the car.

Paperwork and shipping

We handle the complete export and shipping process from our end. For US buyers, that means no ports to chase, no freight paperwork to navigate. In most cases you simply collect the car from your nearest shipping yard, and in some cases we can arrange delivery straight to your door.

A word to our American buyers

We're based in the Netherlands, and we want to be upfront about that, because we know what it means to wire money across the Atlantic for a car you haven't sat in yet. We sell several high-end American classics to the US every year, and our customers have always left happy. We've learned what American buyers need from us: honest condition descriptions, thorough photo and video documentation, and logistics that don't become your problem.

We handle the complete shipping process from our side. All the export paperwork, documentation and freight coordination is taken care of. Most buyers simply pick the car up from their nearest shipping yard, and in some cases we deliver straight to your door. You won't be chasing paperwork or making calls to a port. We've done this enough times that the process is smooth, and we're happy to walk you through every step of it.

If you want more photos, a walkaround video, undercarriage footage, or close-ups of any specific detail, just ask. We'll get it to you quickly. No question is too small, and no request is too much.

Bottom line

An A-scheme 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler in amazing overall condition with honest age-appropriate patina in a few spots. One of only 1,512 ever built, and one of the most visually arresting factory muscle cars of the entire era. These rarely come up and when they do serious collectors pay attention. If you know what this car is, you already know what to do.
