The Macho Power Wagon was Dodge's answer to the late 1970s appetite for big, bold, unapologetic American trucks. It came from the factory with graphics that made absolutely no attempt at subtlety, and it backed them up with a 360 cubic inch V8, real 4x4 capability, and the kind of road presence that hasn't aged a day. This is one of the more sought-after special editions from that era, and finding one in original Macho trim with matching colors intact is genuinely difficult.
The truck
This is a 1979 Macho Power Wagon finished in the correct red, yellow and black factory Macho striping. The period-correct KC light bar is in place, offroad tires are fitted, and a spray-in bedliner protects the bed. The black leather interior is in good condition. Dutch registration is in place (plate V-32-KVD) with APK valid through January 2027, which tells you this is a truck that has been maintained and kept roadworthy, not stored and forgotten.
The odometer reads 108,716 miles.
Condition - honest assessment
We believe in telling it straight, so here's where things stand cosmetically. The clear coat is peeling on the fender tops, door tops and bed rails, and there are few rust spots present around the body. None of this is hidden and none of it is structural. The bed, as well as the underneath are solid and undercoated, which is the part that matters most on a truck this age. Mechanically the truck is in great shape throughout. This is a driver, not a show truck, and it's priced and presented as one. If you're looking for something to put straight into a collection behind glass, this isn't it. If you want a genuine, running, original Macho Power Wagon that you can actually use and enjoy while you decide what level of cosmetic work you want to do, this is exactly that.
Under the hood
The 360ci V8 runs smoothly, pulls strongly, and sounds exactly right through the exhaust. Paired with an automatic transmission and proper 4x4 drivetrain, it's as usable today as it was in 1979. Power steering and air conditioning are both present, which makes this a truck you can actually enjoy on a long drive rather than just admire in a garage.
