decades, trucks have been gaining considerable interest in the eyes
of collectors, offering many of the same components as the muscle
and sports cars they love, at a lower price and with far greater
practicality. Chevrolet's C/K trucks have led the way with the C10
from the Action Line era, one of the first to see mass
appreciation, and the later Rounded Line trucks like this 1985 K20
Silverado 4X4 coming up right behind them. This K20 just came out of
a complete restoration under the care of the consignor and is
finished its original shade of Midnight Black, contrasted by the
factory charcoal cloth upholstery. The truck was built to
show-quality with even panel gaps and a fully finished
undercarriage and engine bay. Of course, even with the truck's
premium restoration, it received quality upgrades to make it look
more aggressive and a more capable performer. It sits on a 6-inch
lift with Rancho Shocks, while a set of 20-inch Fuel wheels with
35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires sit in front of power disc
brakes. A steering stabilizer was also installed, and the chrome
bumpers with overriders shine like the day they left the
showroom. As these were intended to be work trucks when new, the
interior is quite simple, with a charcoal cloth bench seat sitting
behind a basic dashboard with aluminum-look trim. In front of the
driver is a 2-spoke steering wheel with a column shifter, tilt
column, and cruise control is also fitted to this truck. Open the
glovebox and you find the original equipment tag still affixed to
the inside - a feature that is typically long gone on a truck of
this vintage.Under the hood sits a 350ci V8 that has been upgraded
with a 4bbl carburetor, aluminum intake and headers with a true
dual-exhaust system. As previously mentioned, the whole engine bay
is finished and looks very tidy beneath the hood. Power is sent
through a 3-speed TH400 automatic gearbox to a four wheel drive
system with a locking rear diff, 4.10 rear axle ratio and Warn
locking front hubs. This fabulous K20 sports its original sheet
metal and is expertly refinished in Black - the most difficult
color in which to restore, especially when considering the long,
flat body panels of a man-size pick-up. Of special note - many
collectors look for short-box Chevys, especially when shopping for
lowered street trucks. It's our opinion that a lifted 4x4 offers a
proper aesthetic when paired with a long bed, creating a better
visual balance between the bed and lifted body. You won't want to
miss out on this tough-looking Silverado. Don't wait months
(years?) to commission your own restoration - this truck is ready
for delivery today! For more information on this 1985 Chevrolet K20
