Few cars have changed as drastically from generation to generation
quite like the Chevy Camaro. This numbers-matching 1977 Chevrolet
Camaro Z28 exemplifies the low-slung, swoopy demeanor that defined
this model's second generation. Fully professionally repainted in
its factory-correct Code 19 Starlight Black exterior paint color,
complete with its correct red Z/28 decals to go along with its
black-painted factory bumpers, matching black chin and rear
spoilers, letting onlookers know this car is ready to take on all
challengers.
Inside, we find a factory-correct interior decked out in its
factory-correct Buckskin Tan. A center console separates a pair of
bucket seats, while a correct, four-spoke power-assisted tilt wheel
sits ahead of a factory-correct dashboard, featuring a 7,000-rpm
tachometer and 130-mph speedometer. Although the factory
AM/FM/8-Track player is currently inoperative, it still looks cool.
And thankfully, the power windows and locks, along with air
conditioning, all work just fine.
Under the hood, we find a numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8 motor.
Featuring a four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor and matching intake,
this small block also sports its factory air cleaner and fresh air
intake that is still functional, making this a very unusual and
rare find. That power is funneled through a believed original
four-speed manual transmission before heading out to the ten-bolt
rear end that transfers those ponies to the pavement via 15-inch
black-painted factory wheels shod in white-lettered BFGoodrich
tires.
