1966 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 138 VIN,VINTAGE A/C, 4 SPEED TRANS,
12 BOLT POSI REAR This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is great looking!
It presents itself very well. Looking down both sides, the body is
straight. It wears a factory color Regal Red, code R. The paint
shows extremely well and is very glossy and smooth. The door jambs
are very clean and glossy. The chrome and trim are bright and shiny
including the door handles, emblems, taillights, front and rear
bumpers. The windshield and windows are crystal clear, the weather
stripping and window seals have all been replaced. It sits on a set
of 15X7 Chevy Rally wheels. The wheels have factory style flat caps
and newer trim rings with a set of Redline radial tires 215/65/15
on the front and 225/70/15 on the rear, they really enhance the
car's appearance! The black interior really pops up against the
Regal Red exterior. The seat upholstery, door panels, armrests,
carpet and headliner all look really good. All the interior lights
work. In between the black bucket seats is a factory console with a
Hurst 4 speed shifter coming out of it. It features a working
clock. Looking forward at the dash, the factory lenses are crystal
clear. The trim around the dash is very nice; it has all been
replaced. The heater and A/C controls slide with ease. The retro
factory steering wheel is nice, no cracks. It has a retro AM/FM
radio. It also features a Knee Knocker Tach. Nothing appears cut-up
or altered. The engine compartment is clean and orderly with a
completely rebuilt period correct 396 ci engine wearing casting
number 3916323. It features an upgraded HEI ignition for
reliability, factory style valve covers, correct chrome air cleaner
and a Harrison radiator with factory shroud. It has a new cadmium
plated brake booster with an upgraded dual master cylinder.
Everything is nice and tidy. The undercarriage is all clean and
solid metal (floors, frame, etc.). The bottom of the motor is
clean. The M20 Muncie 4-speed transmission is clean. The front end
components look to have been mostly replaced. It has upgraded disc
brakes. There is a newer Flowmaster dual exhaust system that runs
out the back of the car. It has a 12-bolt 3:73 posi rear end. The
E-brake assembly is all hooked up and working. The trunk is all
clean metal, it is nicely detailed with a trunk mat, spare tire,
jack assembly, lug wrench and new weather stripping. The bottom of
