Melanson Motors is proud to offer this 1970 Dodge Charger 500. This
solid southern Charger spent its life in Arizona and still retains
all of its original panels! This Dodge was born on October 8, 1969
as a 1970 model. It was assembled in St. Louis, MO. The car was
brought to Canada from Arizona in the 90's. It is a real XP code
premium Charger 500. It is shown in its original paint color of F8
Green. It has a performance built 440 cubic inch engine mated to a
4 speed A833 transmission. The engine was rebuilt in 2022 and has
TrickFlow aluminum heads, Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake,
Edelbrock 750cfm carburetor, Harlan Sharp roller rockers designed
specifically for TrickFlow heads, Doug's 2" ceramic coated headers,
and Street Performer balancer. The transmission has been rebuilt
with a McLeod Super StreetPro clutch and Ram billet 143 tooth
flywheel. A massive amount of money was spent building the
driveline in this Charger and it is serious on the street! The
original body is very nice and the older paint has recently been
water sanded and polished to a high gloss finish. There is a new
trunk pan tacked inside the trunk over top of the original. The
original is still in place and has just a few pin holes. After some
undercoating was cleaned away, the original floors were exposed and
they are spectacular! They can be seen in the photo gallery.
Finding a '70 Charger with original floors and panels is quite
special. Inside, the interior color has been changed to black. The
interior is in great shape with good carpet and door panels. The
seats are great with no rips or tears. The dash is excellent with
no cracks. This Dodge has a rallye dash with clear gauges. The
console is in good condition and an original AM radio is installed.
This Charger has power disc brakes on the front and drums on the
rear. It also has power steering. The glass is good with no cracks
or chips present. It rides on new 15" Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500
wheels wrapped in new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. They are 15x8
front and 15x10 rear giving the car a great looking stance. An
excellent example of a great driving, original panel Dodge Charger
500!
