Combining the sharp aesthetics of a mid-'60s Chevy pickup with some
well-chosen modifications can really make for a great final result.
Just take a look at this 1966 Chevrolet C10. Its Burgundy Metallic
paint looks outstanding in this setting and, at close range, you
can see that the accenting stripes are no mere decals but are
painted on and do a perfect job of complementing their darker
backdrop. The bumpers at both ends present nicely, as does the
front grille, and the long bed in back features a Rhino liner that
has performed its protective duties well, so there are no glaring
dings to be found. This attention-grabbing pickup cruises on a set
of showstopping 22" six-spoke wheels that have been spared any
unfortunate curb contact, so they're looking their best.
The interior is in good overall condition, with a bench seat that's
currently protected by a red and black cover that matches the color
scheme of the carpeting below, and door panels to each side that
still look fresh. A woodgrain Grant steering wheel sits on the
tilting column, and the factory-style gauges in front of it
broadcast their readings through clear lenses. A B&M ratchet
shifter sits within easy reach to navigate this Chevy through its
gears and when it comes time for some tunes, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD
stereo with an auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity combines
with a speaker box mounted behind the bench seat to offer a strong
audio experience.
This vintage Chevy pickup comes with a reassuringly solid driving
condition that isn't always easy to find in its segment. The
350-cubic-inch V8 lurking beneath the hood is armed with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, along with an Edelbrock Performer
EPS intake manifold, and the powerplant is in fine form, starting
easily and pulling with plenty of conviction as it pairs with a
4-speed automatic 700R4 overdrive transmission that runs through
its gears cleanly. The engine exhales into a set of long tube
headers to minimize backpressure, while the pair of Flowmaster
mufflers below adds a fittingly deep exhaust note when you step
into the accelerator. With its power steering working flawlessly,
this C10 is easy to navigate and when it comes time to stop, power
brakes with discs in front get it done with minimal effort.
