If you're searching for a classic pickup and you put a high premium
on originality but also appreciate the enhanced curb appeal that
can come with the right aftermarket modifications, this one is
worth checking out. This 1987 Chevrolet K10 Silverado 4x4 not only
still wears its original colors both inside and out, but is powered
by the same V8 engine it started out with nearly 40 years ago. And,
with only 68,000 miles having been logged on this rugged truck,
it's well positioned to offer plenty of future chapters of driving
enjoyment. Its distinctive paint scheme is looking sharp, and this
Chevy's elevated stance and bed-mounted light bar equip it for
off-road pursuits, while also attracting plenty of attention in
more sedate surroundings.
Climb inside and you'll see that the interior appears nice and
clean, still almost entirely in its stock configuration, with the
notable exception of a seat cover that looks very much in keeping
with this K10's mid-'80s origin. Its factory gauges are fully
functional and display their readings behind clear lenses and the
added RetroSound stereo unit blends well with its surroundings,
firing up right on cue. Even that signature chrome strip that
upper-tier K10s from this era featured is still looking good, and
when it comes time to cool things down inside the cabin, the
factory air conditioning gets it done without an issue.
The engine compartment retains its original configuration, with no
obvious modifications in sight, and its clean condition suggests
that this truck has been well-maintained over the years. The
5.7-liter V8 sitting at its center is fed via throttle body fuel
injection and, having seen such light usage, is still in great
form, combining with a four-speed automatic 700R4 transmission for
plenty of go-power in the dirt, without compromising the driving
experience on the highway. The four-wheel drive function on this
classic works flawlessly and, with a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers on
board, it has a deep, rumbling exhaust note that stops short of
being overbearing. Power steering makes this K10 easy to handle,
while its power brakes include discs up front to provide low
effort, fade resistant stops.
