1972 Porsche 911 S Targa, S/N 9112310474, Olive 3910 with black leatherette and added pepita inserts. 2.4 liter flat six with 5 speed manual transmission. One year only for the external oil filler door, referred to as “Ölklappe”. Certificate of Authenticity records this as a matching numbers car, original colors (though repainted sometime in the 70’s) and equipped with: US equipment, green tinted glass and Dunlop tires. This gorgeous paint to sample Targa was ordered by a fella in Utah for their German delivery program and he took delivery in March of 1972 at Petermax Miller Porsche in Hanover, Germany. This was facilitated by the Culver City, CA Porsche dealership. According to the included 3-ring binder that comes with the car, after years in Utah it came to California and never left. 4 documented owners split between the two states and documented mileage of 128,818 over the past 54 years. The 4th and most recent owner has taken care of the Targa for almost a quarter century and what I find even cooler, the same Porsche shop has maintained it over this time period, Scott’s Independent of Anaheim, CA. This included a full engine rebuild in ’06 at ~72k miles. Almost every year since it has been maintained by them and all documented. The car drives wonderfully, pulls hard, brakes straight and feels just as solid as it did when first picked up in Hanover all those years ago. Its front clip is protected by decades old paint protection film that now is part of the car, lol. It comes with original manuals/books, Porsche maintenance record booklet, 3 ring binder of history, service receipts including dyno sheets (217HP), dyno video and pictures, original photos, Certificate of Authenticity, Targa top cover and holder, vinyl bra, spare, tools and Coco mats.
