This 1982 Lincoln Continental Mark VI Bill Blass Designer Series was sold by Superior Lincon Mercury Sales Ltd. In Camrose Alberta and was acquired by the current owner from the original owner through an estate sale. The Bill Blass model features a black and candy apple red exterior with a complementary black leather interior accented with red. It is one of 306 ordered with this paint and trim code. The 5.0 L naturally aspirated V8 offers ample power paired with the four-speed automatic transmission. Other factory specifications include wire aluminum wheels, black Cambria carriage roof, a messaging centre, keyless entry system, air conditioning, AM/FM/cassette stereo with premium sound system, power antenna, dual power mirrors, cruise control, illuminated vanity mirrors, power windows and locks and power adjustable front seats. The current owner offers the vehicle with a Marti Report stating production dates and matching serial number, an accident-free Canadian CarFax Report and a complete set of 1982 Lincoln Mark VI shop manuals detailing anything and everything related to this automobile. All interior electronics are functional, including electric mirrors, power windows and locks, power seats, and all interior lighting is working. The leather seats are in immaculate condition as is the carpet, showing little signs of wear. The headliner was replaced to specification last year.
Mechanically, this vehicle is sound. Because the vehicle was in garage storage for many years prior to it’s sale last year, it was decided that the fuel tank and rubber fuel lines, as well as the fuel pump, would be changed with all new parts readily available. The dual tail pipes and muffler were also changed for new, to standard specifications. An oil change and rear axle fluid change were also recently performed. There is a very small oil drip coming from under the oil pan. The suspension and chassis are good, with some signs of surface corrosion but nothing more. Brakes and tires are in good condition with little wear. The air conditioning was upgraded last year and included a new compressor, new accumulator and environmentally compliant coolant and filling ports.
The exterior paint is original, apart from one small area on the lower passenger door where a patch was attempted. There is no rust on the body. The paint shows normal wear for its age with minor small chips in the closing headlight covers and on the bonnet. All the chrome is in exceptional condition. The windscreen has no cracks and all other glass is perfect. The black cambria roof has no tears in the fabric.
The black and candy apple red Bill Blass is a stunning example of a bygone time. One can easily imagine stars like Mick Jagger or Elton John pulling up to Studio 54 on a Saturday night in this vehicle. It oozes glamour, opulence and excess.
