1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS RestoMod
454 Big Block V8 / Turbo 400 Automatic / Holley Sniper EFI /
Vintage Air / QA1 Suspension / Dakota Digital Gauges
Finished in a deep Midnight Black Pearl custom paint, this 1971
Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a clean, well-sorted big-block RestoMod
that blends classic muscle car presence with the right upgrades for
modern drivability. It has the stance, the sound, and the look
people want in a '71 Chevelle, backed by tasteful upgrades
including Holley Sniper EFI, Dakota Digital gauges, QA1 suspension,
Vintage Air, and a strong 454ci big block under the hood.
This Chevelle has an aggressive but refined appearance with
excellent body lines, a cowl hood, SS badging, tinted glass, and a
sharp set of 20-inch wheels that give it a modern street machine
attitude without taking away from the car's classic GM styling. The
blacked-out grille, halo-style headlights, and clean chrome bumpers
help tie the whole package together. According to the included
binder, the car wears Midnight Black Pearl 5-stage custom paint and
has also been ceramic coated in the fall of 2024.
Inside, the car keeps a clean black interior with bucket seats,
center console, and a nicely updated driver environment. The dash
has been upgraded with Dakota Digital gauges, giving the cabin a
much more modern look while still fitting the overall feel of the
car. A new dash pad has been installed, and the interior presents
as clean, simple, and focused. The cabin also benefits from Vintage
Air conditioning, making this Chevelle far more enjoyable in warm
weather cruising.
Power comes from a 454ci big block Chevrolet V8 paired with a Turbo
400 automatic transmission. This is the kind of combination that
fits the personality of a Chevelle perfectly-plenty of torque, easy
cruising, and the kind of sound and response muscle car buyers are
after. Fuel delivery has been upgraded with a Holley Sniper
throttle body fuel injection system, helping provide improved
drivability and more consistent performance over a traditional
carburetor setup. The binder also notes machined heads with a new
head gasket, a new aluminum radiator, new water pump pulley and
belts, a 300-amp chrome alternator, and a high-performance Optima
battery.
Underneath, this Chevelle shows a solid, functional setup with
upgrades aimed at making the car drive better than stock. It is
equipped with QA1 Stage 2 suspension, power steering, power brakes,
a chrome master cylinder and booster, and a new 15:1 quick-ratio
steering gearbox. Out back is a 10-bolt rear with 3.73 Posi gears,
with the binder noting the rear gears were replaced in 9/2025. The
car sits on 20-inch Weld wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis tires,
giving it a muscular stance and a more planted look on the
road.
Additional details noted in the records include new door hinges,
repaired firewall and new wiring, new transmission cover, new sport
mirrors, cowl vent covers, a hideaway windshield wiper system, and
tinted windows. The included binder also notes this Chevelle has
been a winner at South Carolina car shows, which adds to the
presentation and pride of ownership behind the build.
This is the kind of Chevelle that checks a lot of boxes: big-block
power, automatic transmission, cold A/C, EFI, upgraded suspension,
modern instrumentation, and a clean black-on-black presentation. It
has the right blend of old-school muscle and modern usability,
making it a strong choice for someone who wants a '71 Chevelle SS
they can show, cruise, and enjoy.
