"When it comes to massive capability, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and
Unlimited Rubicon have the brawn. Wrangler Rubicon boasts best in
class approach and departure angles, best in class ground
clearance, solid front and rear axles, electronically locking
differentials, huge tires, steel plate underbody armor, and the
Rock-Trac transfer case for great off road capability. When control
is everything, choose Rubicon or Unlimited Rubicon." Excerpted from
the 2010 Jeep sales brochure.
For consignment, a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 4x4 with a
title verified 87,182 actual miles. Rock rails and a 4-inch lift
set this one apart and this very capable Jeep is ready to take on
some rough terrain and accept all the ducks you can throw at
it.
Exterior
Fellow overlanders won't lose track of you in your Flame Red
Rubicon, a vibrant exterior color now lifted and riding high over
the 17-inch BMF wheels wrapped in 37-inch LT rated tires. The Rock
bumper up front not only clears brush from the grille, but the
accompanying Mile Marker winch, light bar, and D-shackles will make
sure you're getting out alive, and upright, even on solo runs. The
three piece Safari top is a practical piece and is color
coordinated with the side mirrors, fender flares, door handles,
bumper, and rock rails. Up close, evidence of the 87,000 miles
shows is some love marks which include rock chips up front, a
peppering of chips on the hood, surface rust on a rock rail, scrape
marks on the plastic window sill liners, a repair on the top, small
dent and surface rust on the tailgate and chipped paint
elsewhere.
Interior
Standard fare on the door panels which exhibit exterior red framing
dark gray plastic inserts that house integrated handles and
hardware in Jeep's prolific use of oval designs and each door
presents in clean condition with requisite tire track design on the
storage bins. Two tone gray bucket seats and rear bench are also in
clean condition with no rips or tears. Clean and standard is how
you'll find the front, from the steering wheel forward where molded
plastic frames, silver rimmed gauges and an AM/FM/CD unit in the
center stack along with the A/C panel. A black shifter rises from
the center console along with range selector and a fishnet storage
pocket over black carpet, all under the white panels of the
transformable Safari top with soft red handles strapped to the roll
cage.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, we have a 3.8 liter V6, rated at 202 horsepower and
enhanced with a 1.5" throttle body spacer and Big Gun intake. It's
mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that can split power between
the two Dana 44 axles.
Undercarriage
Clean underneath with some rough surfaces that have been painted
over and locked in. A single exhaust includes a stock style muffler
and power disc brakes are noted front and rear. Suspension includes
a 4 link with coil springs at both ends, a 4" lift, new control
arms, springs, and Rough Country shocks.
Drive-Ability
Move over. Seriously, move over. This ride gives us a road king
like attitude and frankly, it feels like it can take on the world.
It's tall, wide, and bright and rowing a manual is rarely this much
fun. And because it's been pampered, all functions on board operate
as they should and we ride our flat surface back to the mall. While
Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at
the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions
will be working at the time of your purchase.
Did you know there are parks and trails set aside for off roading
fun? There's likely one near you and if you want to experience all
the fun that wild terrain can deliver, you need a ride like this to
make it happen! As we write this, summer is fast approaching and
the call of the wild will soon be upon us. Are you going to answer
the call, or live vicariously through overlanders on YouTube again
this year?
