For Sale at Auction: 1947 Cadillac Custom in Auburn, Indiana

Vehicle Description

In the world of custom coachbuilding, imagination and craftsmanship reign supreme, where builders are free to blend eras, marques, and materials into a single cohesive vision. It is within this creative space that various compelling automobiles are born, machines that are not confined by factory specifications, but instead shaped by passion, ingenuity, and a deep appreciation for automotive design. Craftsmen often draw inspiration from their favorite styling cues and mechanical components, selecting and integrating the best elements from a variety of sources to achieve both aesthetic harmony and functional excellence. From hand-formed woodwork to thoughtfully chosen drivetrains, each decision reflects a commitment to individuality and quality, resulting in automobiles that are as much art as they are transportation. These one-of-one creations stand as rolling expressions of their builders' vision, where no detail is overlooked and no solution is too ambitious. In this realm, the finished product is more than just a car, it is a statement, a reflection of creativity unbound and a celebration of what is possible when craftsmanship leads the way. A one-of-one custom-built 1947 Cadillac "Nomad-styled" wagon, this automobile is unlike anything else and will surely capture attention whether standing still or in motion. A custom from the ground up, this build started with a Miller-bodied ambulance chassis that was shortened 29 inches and adorned with a chopped and custom designed '57 Chevrolet Station Wagon body. Enhancing the appearance, artfully crafted ash and mahogany wood paneling were affixed to the side and doors, while the rear fenders, taillights, and gas door were provided from a 1948 and '49 Cadillac. The rear one-piece door was cut in two to create the station wagon clamshell rear doors. A Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Sedan provided the suspension and rear end, as well as the 429-cubic-inch V-8 and automatic transmission. The ultimate custom for touring and Americana styling, it features 16-inch wheels, power brakes, Lucas Flame Thrower Fog Lamps, Tri-Bar headlights, power steering, and Vintage Air air-conditioning and heat, allowing you to enjoy this Woodie all year long. Inside, the cabin features a well-crafted, full wood interior of ash paneling throughout and a wood slatted headliner. The front is comprised of precision leather-crafted front bucket seats and a rear fold-down leather-crafted bench seat. A former resident of the Tammy Allen Collection, it was acquired by its current owner in 2016, the Cadillac Sal Collection of Florida. Since then, it has been serviced and professionally stored. Whether stretching its legs on scenic backroads or gliding down the highway, this one-off Cadillac Woodie delivers a relaxed, confident touring experience wrapped in unmistakable style. Equal parts conversation piece and roadgoing companion, it invites its next caretaker to not only admire its craftsmanship, but to truly enjoy the journey every mile along the way. * A one-of-one custom build
* Vintage Air, power steering, and power brakes
* Lovely ash and mahogany wood body paneling
* A comfortable and well-crafted build that can be thoroughly enjoyed
