*1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST Restomod*Built to compete against
Ford's remarkably popular Bronco, the Chevrolet K5 Blazer was based
on the half-ton K10 pickups of the era. These Blazers had improved
handling, road holding and interior volume, making them the
preferred choice for off-roading enthusiasts who also had a
commute. Unfortunately, many of these vehicles were used and
abused, or rusted away, leaving few nice examples remaining - but
this 1971 example is one of them.Starting with a California car,
marque experts Skycor got their hands on the car for a
comprehensive frame off restoration with many upgrades along the
way. These early Blazers were known as the "Action Line" and
represented the only generation available with a full convertible
top - making this the perfect basis for an exciting build. Finished
in two-tone Torch Red and White, this Blazer is finished off with
the iconic Blazer wood-grain trim on the tailgate inlay. Of course,
a build like this wouldn't be complete without a set of US Mag
deep-dish wheels with polished lips wrapped in knobby BFGoodrich
K02 tires. The interior carries on the red and white theme and is a
full custom setup by Nickel Upholstery. With white vinyl for the
seat outers and door cards, all of the seat centers are upholstered
with a unique tartan finish with seat heaters integrated within.
The carpeting in front is European-Style tight weave fabric in red,
while the rear passenger area and load floor are covered in LVP
gray wood flooring. For maximum comfort behind the wheel, a Vintage
Air climate control system was installed, as was a custom Kenwood
stereo setup and cup holders. In front of the driver, a 3-spoke
wood rimmed steering wheel frames modern analog/digital gauges. The
larger upgrades happened beneath the surface starting with a
6.0-liter LS2 V8 that sends power through a 4L80 4-speed automatic
gearbox. To keep it reliable, a high-capacity aluminum radiator
keeps things cool and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes with an
integrated ABS system make stopping easy and safe. The suspension
now features a 3-inch Rough Country lift and modern power steering
makes those bigger wheels and tires easy to move even at a
stop. With Just over 2,500 miles on this truck since the completion
of the build, it still presents like nearly new, but has had all of
the kinks worked out so it is ready for you to enjoy. Built to a
very high standard, this K5 Blazer is the ideal truck for enjoying
with the family all summer long.*Key Features* * Full Body-Off
