1941 Packard One Twenty Convertible 6,089 Original Miles | BaT Sold
2018 | Full Ownership Chain | Stock #UK10645
This is not a car with a similar history to a well-known auction
result. This is that car. It is one of the most publicly documented
pre-war American convertibles in the hobby, and its full ownership
chain is traceable from its original San Francisco owner through to
today. The history reads as follows: this Packard spent the
majority of its life with a single long-term owner in San
Francisco, CA. The winning bidder relocated the car to the Lake
Havasu City, Arizona area, where it received new coil springs
sourced from Max Merritt Auto a nationally respected Packard parts
supplier along with alignment work, fresh tire mounting, and a new
battery in 2018. It has since come to Frankman Motor Company in
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where it is offered with the complete
documentation file. The history file going back to 1995 includes a
comprehensive mechanical freshening by Just Packards of Vallejo, CA
covering clutch-brake assembly, distributor, carburetor, fuel
system, wiper arms, and general servicing with parts concurrently
sourced from Packard Parts West in Santa Rosa, CA. Chrome trim was
professionally refinished by The Polishing Shop in Oxnard, CA in
2018. The odometer reads 6,089 miles, supported by condition,
documentation, and an unbroken chain of specialist care. The 282
cubic inch straight-eight 120hp at 3,600 rpm, 225 lb-ft at 1,800
rpm is paired with a 3-speed column-shift manual with overdrive and
Electromatic clutch. Equipment includes a period Guide spotlight,
bumper overriders, driving lights, AM radio, heater, and the
optional deluxe four-spoke steering wheel. Wide whitewall tires on
chrome-trimmed 15"" steel wheels.
