1941 Packard One Twenty Convertible | 6,082 Miles Shown | Full
Ownership Chain | Stock #UK10645
Few pre-war American convertibles arrive with a history this
complete. Chassis 14992878 a 1941 Packard One Twenty Convertible
finished in Barola Blue over gray leather with a matching blue
canvas top is one of the most thoroughly documented examples in the
hobby. Its full ownership chain is traceable from its original San
Francisco owner through to today, and the paper trail backs up
every mile on the odometer.
The history reads like this: the car spent the majority of its life
with a single long-term owner in San Francisco, CA. It was acquired
from that estate and sold through a prominent online auction in May
2018 out of Redwood City, CA, drawing 59 bids, nearly 22,000 views,
and over 670 watchers before hammering at $50,000. The winning
bidder relocated the car to the Lake Havasu City, Arizona area,
where it received new coil springs from Max Merritt Auto a
nationally respected Packard parts supplier along with alignment
work, fresh tire mounting, and a new battery. It has since come to
Frankman Motor Company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where it is
offered with the complete documentation file.
The history file dating back to 1995 includes a comprehensive
mechanical freshening by Just Packards of Vallejo, CA, covering the
clutch-brake assembly, distributor, carburetor, fuel system, wiper
arms, and general servicing, with parts sourced concurrently from
Packard Parts West in Santa Rosa, CA. Chrome trim was
professionally refinished by The Polishing Shop in Oxnard, CA in
2018.
The odometer reads 6,082 miles, consistent with the car's condition
and supported by an unbroken chain of specialist care and
documentation. Under the hood sits the 282 cubic inch
straight-eight producing 120 hp at 3,600 rpm and 225 lb-ft of
torque at 1,800 rpm, paired with a 3-speed column-shift manual with
overdrive and Electromatic clutch. Equipment includes a period
Guide spotlight, bumper overriders, driving lights, AM radio,
heater, and the optional deluxe four-spoke steering wheel, all
riding on wide whitewall tires with chrome-trimmed 15"" steel
wheels.
