Such a great-looking classic pickup! This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is
dressed in Hotrod Black paint that suits it perfectly, along with a
minimalist assortment of chrome brightwork that's in top form. Its
chopped cabin and aggressively lowered stance give it a standout
appearance and a set of clean 15" steel wheels with painted centers
adds a nice finishing touch to the exterior. Come around to the
back and you'll notice how well the painted red wood on the bed
floor pairs with the black diamond-plated toolbox also in place.
While you're looking in back, check out this 3100's custom
tailgate, featuring Chevy's signature bowtie, with a sharp, 3D
effect.
Inside, the gray cloth upholstery still has plenty of life left in
it. The bench seat shows no rips or tears and there's a flip-up
console at its center to accommodate a third passenger when needed.
Both the door panels and the carpeting are in solid condition, and
as you direct your attention to the dash area, you'll find a set of
Classic Instruments gauges on board in the instrument cluster, as
well as an AM/FM/CD stereo with an auxiliary port to provide plenty
of audio choices during your journeys. A set of under-dash air
conditioning controls was recently installed and all the components
for a complete system are on board. Since that system is blowing
strong, but isn't cooling things down inside the cabin, a simple
freon charge is all that's likely needed to remedy the
situation.
This vintage Chevy offers a driving experience on par with its
great looks. Powered by a 350-cubic-inch V8 that has been outfitted
with a four- barrel Edelbrock carburetor perched on a polished
aluminum intake manifold, it starts right up, holds a smooth idle
and accelerates nicely, tracking arrow straight in the process. The
accompanying 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission shifts through
its gears with slip-free precision. New red valve covers, a red air
filter and a serpentine belt drive system dress things up under the
hood, and the rest of the compartment is well-sorted, with fresh
hoses and belts and properly routed wiring in plain sight. The
engine exhales into a dual exhaust that terminates in a pair of
Flowmaster mufflers, adding a properly rowdy note when you step on
the accelerator. When it comes time to bring things to a stop,
power brakes that include discs up front, get it done with no
problem.
