Stk#037 1940 Ford Deluxe
H. Cochran purchased this car in Sept 2003 from Reverend Robert Barley who purchased the car in Pigeon Forge, TN. He came to see the car which was parked in a garage and though unrestored was drivable and had no rust issues. The car was originally from Glenn County Georgia where it was stored inside as well to the owner's recollection.
Reverend Robert Barley's son enjoyed working with his cousin Bobby Barley on cars. They both raced dirt track cars, with Bobby being the race mechanic. He was somewhat of a perfectionist when it came to working on cars and is also head mechanic at a landfill in West Virginia currently.
The car underwent a frame-off restoration from 2007-2008. It took a total of 14 months to complete. It was stripped down to the frame, and the body was taken to bare metal for painting. Bobby Barley assisted in the restoration of the car.
