Heritage Auto Gallery is proud to present this striking 1966 Ford
Mustang hardtop, finished in the one-year-only "Emberglo Metallic"
- a rich copper-bronze that Ford offered exclusively for 1966, and
only 5.6% of Mustang buyers checked that box. This one still wears
its original V-code color, and it looks every bit as stunning today
as it did when it rolled off the Dearborn assembly line in December
of 1965.
Under the hood sits the factory C-code 289 C.I. V8 fed through a
2-barrel carburetor and paired to a smooth-shifting C4
Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Fire it up and it's
ready to go - this Mustang runs and drives excellent. Manual
steering and manual brakes as-delivered from the factory. The car
is light and nimble, and this is how the majority of these left
Dearborn in 1966.
Step inside and you'll find the factory-correct Emberglo and
Parchment "Deluxe Pony" bucket seat interior - the full Interior
Decor Group as coded 65B from the factory. This is not a base car
with upgrades added later. The Pony-stamped seats, unique door
panels, woodgrain accents on the dash and center console, and
deluxe trim throughout are all part of the original factory order.
The AM pushbutton radio still works and sounds great. A tan vinyl
top complements the Emberglo exterior beautifully, keeping
everything in the warm factory color palette.
