1961 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop - Factory Turquoise on Turquoise -
"Bullet Bird"
This is a first-year third-generation Thunderbird in one of the
rarest factory color combinations built. Color Code C Turquoise
exterior over a full Trim 57 turquoise interior - medium turquoise
crinkle vinyl with light turquoise Vachette vinyl buckets and a
white roof. Only 1,139 of the 73,051 Thunderbirds produced in 1961
left the factory in this color - roughly 1.6% of production.
Powered by the 390 cubic inch FE V8, 300 horsepower, 427 lb-ft of
torque, paired with the 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic. This is
the only drivetrain Ford offered in the '61 T-Bird, and this one
runs and drives exactly the way it should.
Condition:
This Thunderbird presents beautifully and drives as well as it
looks. The exterior was repainted in the correct factory turquoise
over the original white roof - it reads clean from every angle and
photographs great. Up close there are minor texture imperfections
near some emblems and trim, typical of older paint work and barely
noticeable in person. The turquoise interior is in great shape -
buckets look good, white headliner is clean and solid. Power
windows work, heat works, and the car fires right up and rides down
the road like a proper 390 should. A period-correct vintage-style
radio has been installed keeping the classic look.
Original factory hubcaps are included.
