This 1980 Jeep CJ-7 is an awesome built, all steel CJ that spent
its life in California. There is less than 5,000 miles on it since
it was built and that is confirmed on the new gauges and speedo
cluster. The last owner owned this Jeep for the last 30 years and
upgraded and modified the Jeep from 2016-2018. He tried to do about
every upgrade he could to make it off-road capable but also be able
to drive nicely on the street. He stated he put over $50,000 into
upgrades and we have a lot of the receipts but not everything. The
body on this Jeep is clean and straight. It was originally brown
but it was repainted awhile ago in a nice shade of red. It has an
aftermarket front bumper with a Warn 8,000 pound winch. The rear
bumper is also aftermarket with a swing away tire carrier, Jerry
Can holder, hi-lift mount, and fold out table. It has custom rock
rails on the sides and the rear corners. The Bestop soft top is
still in great condition. The underside is very clean and we found
no rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior is also really nice. It has aftermarket military style
seat covers on the front bucket seat that are waterproof. The rear
seat was reupholstered and looks new...it is mounted on a custom
bracket system with a drawer underneath. It has a custom stainless
dash with all custom gauges and switches that all work. It also has
a a Garmin GPS mounted to the dash for if you plan to offroad off
the beaten path. It has a custom family style roll cage for safety.
The roll cage has a bluetooth stereo and CB mounted to it and they
are working. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn
signals are all working. The horn and windshield wipers work. It
has tilt steering with an aftermarket steering wheel. The heat
works and this Jeep has a working Vintage AC system as well.
Mechanically this Jeep is amazing and it runs and drives
excellent!! The engine is a 5.3L Vortec V8 that came out of a 2005
Chevy that had 118k on it. This was done correctly using Novak
Adapters. It has a new Novak wire harness for the engine, aluminum
radiator with electric fan, ceramic coated shorty headers, and
custom exhaust. This is a very professionally done LS Swap. It has
the NV4500 5 Speed Manual transmission that was rebuilt when
installed and it shifts great with a new clutch as well. It is
mated to the Dana 300 transfer case with twin-stick shifter. The
4WD works like it should. The rear axle is a Dana 44 with 4.56
gears, ARB Air Locker, and Chrome Moly shafts. The front axle is a
Dana 30 that was sleeved and gusseted. It also has 4.56 gears, ARB
air locker, chrome moly shafts. The front and rear driveshafts are
custom built to match the lift and power of the new drivetrain. The
lift is a custom spring over axle with custom springs and it rides
great!! It has Heavy Duty Shackles, front shackle reversal, and
custom high steer steering. The lift made it possible to mount the
35 Inch Mud Terrain tires on the chrome rims. Other cool items
include a custom HD aluminum fuel tank with built in fuel pump,
custom onboard air setup with a belt driven compressor (cool
setup), hydroboost brakes with corvette master cylinder and all
custom lines (Disc brakes on front), and he also has it set up for
on board welding and has everything you need to use it. This is a
crazy expensive build at a great price!!
