*1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible GTO Tribute*The Pontiac GTO is
rightfully credited as the car that kicked off the muscle car
revolution. By sticking the engine out of the larger Boneville into
the compact LeMans, it became a sensation and remains one of the
most talked about cars of the 1960s. This 1965 LeMans Convertible
has been given the full GTO treatment and offers all of the looks,
performance and fun, at a fraction of the price. This LeMans was
treated to a comprehensive, frame off restoration by a previous
owner and was purchased by the consignor through the Volo Auto
Museum in August of 2021. The exterior is finished in stunning
Viper Blue two-stage paint, which compliments the white power
convertible top exceptionally well. Chrome on the bumpers has been
refinished and shows very well, and the 15-inch Rallye 1 wheels
really complete the look. Additionally, GTO badges have been fitted
around the car.The interior features a pair of bucket seats up
front upholstered in black vinyl, and matching rear bench seat.

3-spoke steering wheel that frames a fully set of recreation Rallye
gauges including a . 20 mph speedometer Blue lighting has been
installed in the cabin, as has a new carpet set.Under the hood sits
a 389ci V8 that has been extensively modified for improved
performance and usability. Starting with a 389ci V8, the engine was
bored 60 over, balanced, built with a performance Crane cam, ported
and polished heads and an electronic fuel injection system. An MSD
distributor and ignition system works together with the injection,
offering a more dependable classic which is even further improved
thanks to an aluminum radiator. Of course, the car sounds
exceptional with Doug Thorley headers and a 3-inch custom exhaust
with cross over pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Shifting is handled
by a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual gearbox with a performance clutch
and Hurst shifter in the cabin. At the rear, a 3.55 rear gear and
Eaton Posi-trac diff help put the power down. Power brakes up front
help with stopping and power steering makes the car very easy to
maneuver around. If you love the GTO look but want a bit more
