sedan. With Night Vision, OnStar, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist,
and Stabilitrak, (all available features), DeVille exhibits
technology that's true to its heritage. Experience DeVille. An
impressive blend of power, with the revered Northstar V8, and a
presence that is as sophisticated on the inside as it is on the
outside." From the 2004 sales brochure.
For consignment, a 2004 Cadillac Deville 4 door sedan with a title
verified 68,681 actual miles. This is a garage kept, one owner
beauty and according to our consignor, has only been hand washed!
So far, it checks all the boxes!
Exterior
This big bodied Caddy takes its cues from Cadillacs of the past and
blends them into rounded edges while keeping its proud, boxy style
in Crimson Pearl paint. A statement is made by the large flush
headlights which look like twin ice sculptures that flank the
eggcrate grille. The color keyed bumper cover is underscored by an
intake grid that spans the width, while a hood ornament, by 2004 a
fading feature, stands proudly on the expanse of the hood. Out
back, a modern tail for 2004 includes flush mounted tail lights
that almost disappear in the crimson paint, an overarching third
brake light on the deck lid, and quad exhaust tip under a smooth
rear bumper cover. In profile, the long overhang underscores a
large trunk while the big car has a nose down stance to cut through
the wind. 16-inch chrome wheels are handsome attributes, here with
60 series tires that have an early 2021 date code. Imperfections
include some scratches, chips including those that are touched up,
dampness behind a headlight lens, minor scratches, some pitting on
the wheels, paint run under the side molding, a rust bubble on the
bottom edge, various scuffs throughout, and some chin scrapes and
damage.
Interior
Traditional wood trim, simulated in this instance, adorns the Shale
and beige door panels, sculpted together is an artistic expression
that's clean and efficient. Beige leather bucket seats are
generously cushioned and tufted in the center with a switch panel
that is perfectly matched in color. There's some wear on the
driver's point of entry, but all other seats, including the
luxurious rear bench, are in fine shape. The shale steering wheel
fronts a digital dash which of course, lights up in digital green.
The simulated wood surrounds the cluster and spans the width of the
dash while dark gray plastic switches control the climate and
AM/FM/CD in the center stack. Beige carpet covers the floor nicely
and the foam backed headliner and is accompanied by a sunroof and
overhead console. The trunk does not fail to impress, it's large
and finished in gray panels ready to take on your golf clubs or
largest of your Louis Vuitton bags.
Drivetrain
Big plastic shields were coming into their own in 2004 and showed
up on this clean engine, a 4.6 liter Northstar V8 rated at 275
horsepower and mated to a 4T80E 4-speed automatic transmission.
This engine is transverse mounted and provides power to the front
wheels and 3.11 gears.
Undercarriage
Overall is very nice and clean condition with some typical surface
rust and metal oxidation. The single exhaust runs down a central
tunnel then splits to enter original mufflers, finally exiting
through oval chrome tips. Four wheel power disc brakes are on board
and the fully independent suspension includes Macpherson struts in
front and coil springs in back.
Drive-Ability
This massive lap of luxury provides a smooth, floaty ride that
Cadillac devotees have come to expect, and the V8 provides plenty
of power for lavish cruising and highway treks. All functions in
this carefully cared for example operate as intended and while we'd
love to spend our lunch break in this cabin, it's time to get it on
the showroom floor. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these
functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot
guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your
purchase.
It's not the last of the breed, but close to it. Land yachts from
Cadillac are legendary and will always have a place in the hearts
of Americans and the landscape of our roadways. This is the modern
version of the legendary earlier iterations and it's a very nice
example.
