This beautifully restored 1975 MGB GT Golden Jubilee is a true
piece of MG history. Built to mark MG's 50th anniversary, the
Jubilee model is exceptionally rare - only 751 coupes were produced
worldwide (750 planned, one wrecked). Finished in exclusive British
Racing Green with gold striping, this right-hand-drive hatchback
was originally sold only in the UK. (MG Car Club records note that
when new, none were allowed into the U.S. - only 2 are known to
have been imported there as of 2016.) Complete with its factory
dash plaque "#300" and comprehensive build paperwork, this
concours-restored GT is an ultra-rare collectors' item.
This GT has undergone a three-year, ground-up restoration to
concours standards. Every aspect of the car was rebuilt or
refinished to factory specification. The body panels were
completely stripped and repainted in the correct "Racing Green"
shade, with the gold side stripes and logos precisely reapplied.
All trim and brightwork have been re-chromed or replaced, and the
bumpers, headlight covers, and mirror caps retain the special black
(non-chrome) finish unique to this edition. Under the hood and in
the cabin, attention to detail is evident: the black cloth seats
with headrests (an optional feature on 1975 models) are like new,
and the interior sports the original wood-rimmed V8-style steering
wheel, full carpeting, and tinted glass - all Jubilee
equipment.
Underneath its classic styling, the Jubilee GT retains the familiar
MGB mechanical package. The stock 1,798 cc (1.8L) B-Series inline-4
engine delivers its factory-rated 95 hp, yet this example pulls
strongly thanks to meticulous tuning. It is paired with the 4-speed
manual gearbox and factory Laycock overdrive - a desirable feature
on this model- making highway cruising effortless. The car runs on
its correct Jubilee-spec 14? alloys (painted black with gold trim)
wrapped in modern tires. Braking is safe and confident with
power-assisted front discs and rear drums (standard for 1975 MGBs),
and an upgraded dual-circuit master cylinder. For driving comfort,
this car is equipped with all the proper amenities from new:
heater/ventilation, a rear wiper, and a heated rear window, plus
more subtle touches like the original period amber side marker
lights.
In summary, this 1975 MGB GT Golden Jubilee is not just a car -
it's a piece of automotive history. Its factory-original
anniversary features and painstaking restoration combine to offer
one of the finest, most authentic Jubilee models you'll find
anywhere. If you want an MG that stands out at shows, commands
respect from fellow enthusiasts, and offers a genuinely unique
driving experience, this is the one. With its limited-edition
pedigree, documented #300 build status, and certified heritage,
it's a true collector's dream. Don't miss the opportunity to own
this ultra-rare Golden Jubilee - a legitimate "trophy car" ready to
enjoy today and preserve for generations.
