This 1988 Ford Mustang has been built with a clear drag-oriented
focus and is powered by a Baker Engineering LS-based turbocharged
5.7L V8. The combination includes a BTR intake, BTR fuel rails, a
Big Mouth 102mm throttle body, Trick Flow cylinder heads, a Tial
Sport wastegate, and a C&R aluminum radiator, giving the
car a well-supported mix of airflow, fueling, and cooling upgrades.
The drivetrain is paired with an automatic transmission featuring a
full manual valve body and a Pro Tree trans brake, with a
B&M shifter handling gear selection. A 3.55 rear gear helps
round out the setup.
The stance and wheel-tire package continue the car's purpose-built
theme, with 15" Weld Racing wheels, 26/10 Mickey Thompson rear
tires, and 165/80 front tires. Braking is handled by front discs
and rear drums. Inside, the car is fitted with a cage, Jaz Products
bucket seats, and Simpson racing harnesses. The instrument cluster
has also been supplemented with Equus gauges for tach, oil
pressure, boost, and water temperature, giving the driver added
monitoring of the car's vital functions. Altogether, this Fox-body
Mustang is a heavily modified build with a focused performance
setup and additional supporting upgrades throughout.
