1964 Dodge Polara 2-Door Hardtop 520ci Stroker-Powered
This 1964 Dodge Polara two-door hardtop is a no-nonsense Mopar
street machine, blending classic full-size styling with serious
big-block performance. Finished in clean white over a two-tone blue
vinyl interior, this Polara has been transformed with a
professionally built 520ci stroker V8 delivering massive torque and
unmistakable presence.
At the heart of the build is a 520ci stroker based on a 1973 440
block, installed in 2008 and engineered with premium internals
throughout. Highlights include ported and polished 440 Source
aluminum cylinder heads, a 4.375" stroke and 4.350" bore, a forged
4340 steel crankshaft, 7.10" H-beam rods, Keith Black forged
pistons, and a Bullet Racing solid roller camshaft. Supporting
components include Smith Brothers pushrods, aluminum roller
rockers, ARP fasteners, and a full complement of high-performance
internals. Induction is handled by a cross-ram intake topped with
dual Edelbrock carburetors, with twin black air cleaners bearing
Mopar decals, while the ignition is upgraded with an MSD Pro-Billet
distributor and Street Fire wires. Chrome valve covers proudly
display "RAMCHARGER 528-IV" badging. A 2021 dyno sheet shows an
impressive 452 horsepower and a tire-twisting 626 lb-ft of
torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a push-button TorqueFlite
automatic transmission, rebuilt in December 2024 and equipped with
a 3,500-RPM stall converter, auxiliary cooler, and a Derale deep
pan. A heavy-duty Dana 60 rear end houses a 4.10:1 Detroit Truetrac
limited-slip differential with 35-spline Strange Engineering axles,
ensuring strength and reliability under hard acceleration. A
driveshaft loop is in place, and the dual exhaust system features
tubular headers, 3-inch piping, electric cutouts, and Dynomax
mufflers for an aggressive, tunable exhaust note.
The exterior retains its classic Polara look with quad headlights,
chrome grille, bumpers, and trim, along with Fratzog emblems on the
hood, C-pillars, and trunk. Period-style racing decals on the
quarter windows add to its vintage performance attitude. It sits on
15" Cragar SS wheels wrapped in Uniroyal Tiger Paw front tires, and
Radir pie-crust slicks out back, giving it that unmistakable
old-school muscle stance. The car is equipped with power steering,
front disc brakes, rear drums, and a rebuilt front suspension.
Inside, the cabin features two rows of bench seats upholstered in
two-tone blue vinyl with matching door panels. A Dodge Golden
Anniversary steering wheel frames the factory 120-mph speedometer
and auxiliary gauges, while a Moon Equipped tachometer is mounted
to the column. Additional Stewart-Warner gauges for oil pressure
and water temperature are mounted below the dash. The odometer
shows 76k miles. Interior amenities include a push-button AM radio,
heater and defroster, Dodge-branded floor mats, and new carpeting.
An Optima RedTop battery has been relocated to the trunk in a black
battery box.
This Polara delivers the perfect mix of vintage Mopar character and
