This 1974 International Scout II is a really cool, really clean,
survivor that spent its life in California. The last owner has
owned this vehicle for the last 40 years and it still has the
california Pink Slip. It has some upgrades added over the years and
he alsways kept in sound mechanical condition. The body on this
Scout is super clean and straight. He had it repainted around 20
years ago in its original color of Mayan Mist and the paint still
looks nice with no signs of rust issues on the body at all. The
condition of that paint tells you a lot about the how solid this
Scout is because old paint with rust issues will start to
deteriorate. It has a custom heavy duty front bumper and factory
rear bumper. All of the trim is original and nice. The underside is
super clean on this Scout. It is original but clean and we found no
rust issues with this Scout.
The interior is also nice. It has nice aftermarket Mastercraft Baja
RS seats, a locking Tuffy Center Console, and the factory rear seat
was recovered to match the front seats. The carpet and Headliner
are newer and in great condition. The door panels, dash, and dash
bezel are original and nice. The headlights, taillights,
brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work.
The windshield wipers, horn, and heat are also working. It has an
aftermarket stereo, but that is not working.
Mechanically this Scout is excellent and it runs and drives
wonderful. The engine is a 5.6L 345 V8 that was rebuilt around
20,000 miles ago according to the last owner (no receipt). It runs
strong with no issues or red flags that we found. It has a Holley 4
Barrel Carb and stainless steel headers with dual exhaust. The
transmission is a T19 4 Speed Manual that shifts great with a good
clutch. It is mated to the Dana 20 transfer case and the 4WD works
like it should. It has Dana 44 axles on the front and rear with
3.54 gears. It has factory power steering with a newer gearbox and
factory power front disc brakes. It has a 2 Inch Spring Lift with
Bilstein Shocks and new set of All terrain tires (265/75/16) on
Black Steel Wheels.
We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and
accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures
